Weekly Wine Tastings
7th-8th of May, 2010
Please join us for our FREE Wine and Beer Tastings - Friday from 3-7 pm and Saturday 1-6; this week we are tasting:
WINE
Mother's Day is traditionally the first big barbecue of the season. So we went around the globe to find white wines that are crisp and refreshing and reds that make their mark around the grill. These wines are great on their own and, with food, they make even the most basic dishes seem like the most special meal. Bring your menu, taste the wines and impress everyone with your epicurean talents.
Happy Mother's Day to all!
N.V. Vinho Verde "Praia," Bodega Guedes

BEER
Brewing is big business in Colorado. How big? The Beer Institute of America has the state ranked number one in terms of total beer production, producing over 23,370,848 barrels a year with 92 breweries statewide! Even if you exlude a producer like Coors, it would still be ranked third in the country in volume of brewpubs and craft breweries. The state capital, Denver, ranks first in the nation in beer production per capita and is home to 4 of the top-50 brewing companies in the nation. We were so impressed by these stats that this week we're bringing you some of the Rocky Mountain State's best and brightest.
These beers are world class stuff and make for great drinking at the beach, on the boat, or just kicking back on the deck. So stop on by this week-end and taste them.
White Rascal
Avery Brewing (Boulder, CO)
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.
$9.99 6pk.
Denver Pale Ale
Great Divide Brewing (Denver, CO)
DPA has risen to become one of the most award-winning English-style pale ales in the world. Sporting a brilliant copper hue and an assertive floral hop aroma, DPA is known for its smooth, malty middle, which is expertly complemented with hearty and complex hop flavor. DPA's extraordinary hop finish is marked by crisp yet moderate hop bitterness.
$10.99 6pk.
Out of Bounds
Avery Brewing (Boulder, CO)
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. Plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops gives this full-bodied stout that little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.
$10.99 6pk.
