Weekly Wine Tastings

2nd-3rd of April, 2010

Please join us for our FREE Wine and Beer Tastings  - Friday from 3-7 pm and Saturday 1-6; this week we are tasting:

WINE

Located in the town of Glen Ellen, Bruce Cohn has been making some of the best wines in the Sonoma Valley for over 25 years. Exquisitely crafted and well balanced, the wines of B.R. Cohn are often found on the wine lists of some of the best restaurants in the country.

The backstory of this winery (wine and music and how they go together) is captured on YouTube, "Drinking the Doobie," CNBC's World TV Series Wine Portfolio interview with Bruce Cohn. Take a second to watch it and then come on over to taste the wines.

On FRIDAY ONLY, we're extremely lucky to have Dan Cohn, son of B.R. Cohn wine maker Bruce Cohn, with us to show these wines. And we'll even be tasting some of the winery's ultrapremium olive oil.

BEER

Gubna Imperial IPA
Oskar Blues Brewery (Lyons, CO)
Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with 3 malts and 1 hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. This beer will greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness.
$16.99 4pk

Sublimely Self-Righteously Ale, Double Black IPA
Stone Brewing Co. (San Diego, CA)
First brewed in 2007 as Stone's 11th Anniversary Ale, this beer was an instant hit. So great were the cries of anguish when it ran out that it was decided to make it part of the year round offerings! It's a brilliantly hopped double IPA-providing a wake up call of floral and citrus aromas-backed up by a deliciously smooth and dark roasted maltiness. You get the best of both worlds with this black double IPA
$7.99 22oz Single

Resurrection Ale, Belgian Style Dubbel
Brewers Art (Baltimore, MD)
What other beer could be more appropriate for your Easter dinner!?! Based on a classic Belgian style Abbey "Dubbel" Ale and made with five types of barley malt and lots of sugar, this beer is quite flavorful, without being too sweet.
$10.99 750ml
