WINE

It's here -  the newest installment of our wildly popular 6 wines for $60 dollars.  This month we bring you three more red and three more white wines, from great producers around the world for this incredibly low price.

You can buy our prepackaged 6 pack for $60 or purchase each individual wine for a discounted price of $11.99 a bottle!  Either way its a great deal on some fantastic wine!

2008 Inzolia, "Isola d'Oro" IGT, Cantina Corbera
Sicily, Italy
Another great daily quaffer from Sicily! Made entirely of Inzolia (it can also be spelled "insolia) grown in the shadows of Mt Etna, this fresh food friendly wine shows clean aromatics dominated by apricot with hints of almond and citrus, and is medium weight, with fairly fresh acidity.

2008 Picpoul de Pinet "Cave de Pomerols", Hugues Beaulieu
Coteaux du Languedoc, France
"An amazing wine that turns the trick of being refreshing, yet downright lush with aromas of clover, musk, peaches, and melons. The palate suggests salt-tinged honeydew and watermelon, with invigoratingly bitter and pungent notes of melon rind, peach kernel, and mint chiming in on a long, savory, lip-smacking finish." 89pts Wine Advocate

2008 Chardonnay/Viognier VdP, Dom de Coussergues
Languedoc Roussillon, France
"My favorite is the medium-bodied, dry, fresh, lively 2008 Chardonnay/Viognier (a 50-50 blend). Exotic tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and floral undertones offer a lovely aromatic display."90pts Wine Advocate

2007 Garnacha Old Vines, Tres Ojos
Calatayud, Aragon, Spain
"The 2007 Old Vines Garnacha, sourced from 40-50 year old vines, was aged for 12 months in stainless steel. Purple-colored, the nose exhibits spice box, violets, and black cherry. On the palate it has plenty of supple-textured, succulent fruit and a finish with no hard edges. Drink it over the next three years."88pts Wine Advocate

2008 Malbec, Dona Paula Estate
Mendoza, Argentina
"Dona Paula's 2008 Estate Malbec is purple-colored with a pleasing bouquet of spice box, incense, and black cherry. This leads to a medium to full-bodied, plush wine with layered black cherry and blueberry flavors, light tannin, good concentration, and a fruit-filled finish. Drink this tasty effort over the next 4 years."88pts Wine Advocate

2006 Shiraz/Cab "Mountain Estate", Inkberry Estate
South Australia, Australia
A blend of Shiraz (60%)/Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), shows a deep purple color with big aromas of black currant, blackberry, and blueberry aromas. On the palate the wine exhibits remarkable focus and structure for its humble price. The fruit is grapy and primary as well as intensely flavored.

BEER

This week we taste three brews that run the gamut from mischevious, to rebellious, to the likely insane. First we're off to Sunny California where Patrick Rue is crafting stunning Belgian style ales at The Bruery. Then we again visit Scotland's Brewdog with a barleywine brewed in collaboration with Denmark's iconoclastic Mikkel. Finally we arrive in Delaware where Sam Calagione has been up to his extreme brewing shenanigans since 1995.

Mischief
The Bruery (Placentia, CA)
Not quite evil, yet not to be trusted. It's a hoppy Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale using copious amounts of American hops. Effervescent, dry, hoppy and crisp-- you'll want to keep an eye out.
$10.99 750ml

Devine Rebel
Brewdog/Mikkeller (Fraserburg, Scotland)
Brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller from Denmark, partially aged in Speyside whiskey casks, and brewed with ale and champagne yeasts. This is indeed a divinely rebellious barleywine.
$12.99 12oz.

Fort 2008
Dogfish Head Brewing (Milton, DE)
An ale brewed with a ridiculous amount of pureed raspberries (over a ton!). Fort has a Belgian Ale type base, then follows a special fermentation process to achieve its final ABV. Due to its high ABV (%18!), Fort is an excellent candidate for cellaring. We've taken care of this part for you by laying down a number of bottles from the 2008 release.
$18.99 750ml
